12/09/2007: "Cyclone Daman"

Thanks to everyone who emailed and called about Cyclone Daman. Chaotic Harmony is moored alongside Sereki Mai at Vuda Point Marina, Fiji. Two days before the cyclone was announced Gavin, Baden and Fletcher spent four hot days preparing to leave the boat for a month. Catherine and Estelle were already in Cairns getting some much needed retail therapy. The boys lashed and tied, packed and secured, added extra lines and removed those unnecessary deck items 'just in case'. We then flew to Cairns and T.C. Daman reared north west of Fiji and spearheaded toward Chaotic Harmony.
Luck, this time, was on our side. The cyclone backed into the north and east and has skirted around Fiji leaving the Marina and boat unscathed. The crew back in Aus are also relieved. We have had friends on the Catamaran 'Catamini' and Catherine's parents on Navini island keep us well informed of the preparations at the marina and to them our sincerest thanks.
