05/20/2007: "Baden Overboard"

Baden's concern was not that he had fallen off the forebeam as we were motor sailing along in calm seas. He was concerned about the thousands of dinner plate sized purple jellyfish he had been watching zooming under the boat! It was all action when we heard the yell and splash. Fletcher came to the back of the boat and got the boathook. Gavin put the engines into neutral and threw the lifering and retrieval line off the back. Catherine pulled the fishing lines in (with an image in her mind of him getting hooked up). Estelle watched Baden and hauled in the other fishing line. The cats remained asleep. When Baden had passed underneath amidst much yelling we reversed up and hauled the bedraggled and slightly distressed crewman aboard. Our excitement for the day
