05/02/2007: "Gavin's Folly"

Why would you have an image of a fence on a cruising website? When sailors hit the shore for a while various folly's arise. We did a renovation on our house in Cairns and Gavin was given a free range on the roadside fence. He went down the 'theme' path. Rolling sandunes, drop-off zones into the seaweed and seahorses for gates, driftwood on a tide line and even the cement rendering was done in that rippled pattern on sand. To finish off the fun we had to paint the house blue so that through the gates you would see the water. Shame about the trees... Luckily we left to go sailing again before he got carried away...
