04/14/2007: "Marina Life"

The cyclone wet season is nearly over and we are preparing to move on from Vuda Marina, Fiji. Chaotic Harmony continues to spend time in the Mamantha area as it is usually only a day sail from a Cyclone anchorage. Marina life has been fun, the characters come and go, some stay and we get to know them well as we all go about our life aboard on the shores edge. Catherine has a great idea about a 'retirement' marina for old yachties. The idea is to have a marina with yachts that are not going anywhere - well into the dirt but with enough water around them to give the right feel. There would be a few functional berths for those that blow in and out - to give the place the feeling of activity and to change faces regularly. You could utilise an area that is not really suitable for a real marina because dredging would be costly. An idea... Maybe something to follow up in the future.
