08/21/2007: "Manta Ray dive"

Manta (140k image)

For the last seven days we have been sheltering from a strong wind warning. We started off in Matagi Ialand then ran downwind in company with the catamaran 'Aussie Oi' which has two children - Tom, 8 and Molly, 12 years. We first went to Rabi island and anchored in the very calm Katherine Bay. We decided to sail up to Albert Cove together (all of 8 miles) and en route ran over a reef system that had six Manta Rays circling and feeding. Both Aussie Oi and Chaotic Harmony back tracked and launched the dinghy - then into the water to snorkel with them. Spectacular fun. We then sailed on to Albert Cove - for beach fun, school work mornings and sunset drinks.
