11/14/2006: "Larva bomb behind, wind bomb above"

The Yasur volcano spat red hot larva bombs hundreds of metres in the air. At a lookout where Barry wandered off to a bomb the size of a car landed where he would have been had our guide not literally guided him back. Another bomb was threatenting though. On the fourth day of awaiting the weather a low developed on the Northern end of Vanuatu. Tanni held no significant protection from a potential cyclone so I had to make a decision. Stay or go? The wind had shifted to the south east and although it would be a hard beat it was the first opportunity to make headway toward Fiji. We decided to do the run. Chaotic Harmony made the break from land.
